I say the same thing every year, but for serious – where did 2014 go?! I guess time flies when you’re having fun, so I can’t complain that this year absolutely zoomed by. I’m thrilled to ring in the New Year with my new fiancé tomorrow – I have a feeling this is going to be a very exciting 2015! But first, here’s a round-up of YOUR favorite recipes on My Bacon-Wrapped Life in 2014. I must say, you have great taste! 😀
I completely fell in love with this dark, rich, unapologetic chocolate loaf. I’m definitely making this again for St. Patrick’s Day this year!
9. Vegan Dark Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread
My first vegan baking excursion! I’m so glad you guys loved this one as much as I did – it seriously rocks.
8. Salted Caramel Bacon Ice Cream Pie
One thing’s for sure – you guys love your bacon desserts as much as I do! This (super easy!) salted caramel bacon ice cream pie was absolute sweet-and-salty lover’s heaven.
7. Browned Butter Bacon Rice Krispie Treats
Noticing a trend? I can’t blame you, people. I loved the smokiness the bacon lent to these majorly jacked-up rice krispie treats. YUM.
6. White Chocolate Strawberry Cream Scones
One of my favorite scone recipes of all time. Heavy cream is the trick to the fluffiest, richest scones, and the white chocolate/strawberry combo was to die for. The perfect summer breakfast!
This remains one of Brad’s favorite recipes I’ve ever made! It’s so easy to throw together and so full of flavor – it’s one of my go-to party recipes!
4. Almond Streusel-Topped Blueberry Galette
Oh man, I loved this one too. Galettes are generally seen as the lazy man’s pie, but this baby is a total show-stopper. The blueberry/almond flavor combination never fails, especially when it’s all wrapped up in a buttery cornmeal pie crust.
This is a serious family favorite over here. It’s an incredibly delicious healthy meal, perfect to make on Sundays and package up for lunch for the week.
2. Maple Bacon Shortbread Cookies
Another bacon dessert winner. Bacon adds so much flavor to these classic shortbread cookies – chocolate dip optional! I loved these little guys, and so did everyone else who tried them!
TA-DA!! By far, the number one favorite recipe on my blog this year was this incredibly flavorful, spicy and crunchy Sriracha Chex Mix. It is one of my all-time favorite snacks, and I highly recommend you make it so it can become one of yours too. (Hello, New Year’s Eve, AMIRIGHT?)
Most importantly, thank you so much to everyone who stopped by this year! It’s been an awesome year, and I continue to fall more in love with making delicious food and sharing it with the fantastic community I have here. I love you all, and hope you have a wonderful start to a wonderful year! XO!
