Foodie Favorites – June 10, 2015

Just a giant stack of fajitas from my favorite Mexican restaurant in LA. Major nostalgia up in here!

Hi friends! Can you even believe it’s June? I know it’s one-third of the way through June, but still – I can’t really wrap my mind around it. We spent a completely wonderful and life-affirming weekend in LA visiting family and friends last weekend, and it was just the best…and this week, one of my best friends Kate is coming to visit from Chicago! I’m feeling like a very lucky (and busy) gal. So because I haven’t eaten enough this week (major sarcasm), let’s look at more pictures of food! It’s how I roll, people. Here are this week’s Foodie Favorites!

I’m loving the creativity of this tahini ice cream with honey caramel. Tahini is such a fantastic and under-utilized ingredient – I love seeing it in the spotlight here!

Is this nutella crunch cake for real?! I’m seriously drooling!

Foodie Favorites – May 27, 2015

Finally got around to trying Philz Coffee in Berkeley (and yes, it was awesome!)

Hello everyone! How was your Memorial Day weekend? As much as I looooove 3 day weekends, coming back to work and errands and real life after them is always so tough! Our weekend was (happily) incredibly lazy but (sadly) mostly spent inside due to some June gloom-y weather here in the Bay Area. But I wasn’t complaining – I did a ton of cooking, cleaning, and reading, so I was a happy girl. (Please ignore how old-lady that sentence sounded.) Let’s ease back into real life with some Foodie Favorites!

These peanut butter gooey bars basically made my eyes bulge out of my head. Throw sweetened condensed milk on anything and I am there!

This strawberry cookies and cream cake is so rustic and beautiful and HELLO cookies and cream?! I’m in love!

Foodie Favorites – May 13, 2015

Hey everyone! How’s your week going? We are in for a very exciting weekend – my future sister-in-law Tara is graduating from UC Berkeley so we have the whole family in from out of town and are planning on doing lots of eating and drinking to celebrate! I hope you’re enjoying warm weather and spring-y celebrations wherever you are, too. Here are this week’s Foodie Favorites!

This chocolate peanut butter pretzel tart looks like sweet-and-salty dessert heaven. I love this idea!

Two thumbs-up to this super simple 3-ingredient grilled chicken recipe. What a good recipe to add to the weeknight repertoire!

Foodie Favorites – April 29, 2015

Newest Berkeley food discovery: a Jewish deli with a full bar and craft beer list. A place where I can get pastrami, latkes, and a craft beer on draft?! IS THIS REAL LIFE? Saul’s, I love you.

Hey everybody! How’s your week going? Do you have any plans for the Derby this weekend? Watching the race itself totally stresses me out, but I love hearing all the awesome horse names and having an excuse to drink a serious mint julep (or four). Luckily, I have not one but TWO drank recipes for you this week. Happy Kentucky Derby AND happy almost-Cinco De Mayo! (Uh, what a great week!) Here are this week’s Foodie Favorites.

These chili lime mango margaritas look freakin’ amazing. I would like a pitcher of these and a chair by the pool, please!

I just cannot look at pictures of these salted chocolate chunk cookies and NOT want to run to the kitchen immediately to whip them up. These are happening ASAP – will report back re: “best cookie ever” status!!
