Hey everyone! Hope you’re having a better Wednesday than I am. I’m writing this on a wireless keyboard we miraculously dug up because the “p” key on my keyboard has suddenly stopped working! I figured a post without “p”s would be pretty difficult, so I’m glad I was able to make this work. (I mean, I couldn’t even type in “Pinterest”.) Fingers crossed for me at the Apple Store this weekend! Gah. In much happier and less hair-pulling-out-inducing news, here are this week’s Foodie Favorites!
This Labor Day, I mixed up my usual classic burger recipe with this coffee-rubbed, bacon and provolone-topped stunner. It was seriously amazing and will definitely be my new go-to burger recipe from now on!
I’m loving the creativity behind these Korean-style nachos. I mean, nacho-ize anything and I’m happy, but this looks particularly fantastic!
This brown butter banana ice cream is my new favorite thing ever. Growing up, I’d always get the banana ice cream at Coldstone on our (frequent) family trips there. Don’t knock it ‘til you try it, people. This is a classier version of my childhood fave!
This Friday, we finally hit up a restaurant that’s been on my bucket list forever – Balena in Lincoln Park. It was absolutely fantastic, and one of my new favorite restaurants in the city for sure. My favorite things we tried were the lamb prosciutto pizza and and the pork ragu rigatoni, but everything was incredible (including the wine!). Such a winner.
These Danish-style hot dogs are making me seriously homesick for Copenhagen. I mean, how good do those look?!
Remember the spinach strata I couldn’t stop gushing about a few weeks ago? Well, this is an updated version of that with corn, cheddar, and scallions, and my eyes just about burst out of my head when I saw it. Must make immediately! What a perfect flavor combo.
This apple slab pie just screams Fall to me, and that crust just looks sooo buttery and delicious. Sign me up!
