I’m baaaaaack! Four days later, I’m still recovering from the most incredible weekend filled with champagne, guacamole, and Jell-O shots (hey, I never said it would be classy, okay?). Needless to say, I’m in major detox mode this week! Not detox as in not-eating-food-and-drinking-only-juice (who do you think I am??) but more like detox as in filling-my-belly-with-things-that-are-happy-and-healthy. Just like these incredible kale pesto quinoa bowls!

Foodie Favorites – January 13, 2016
Wishing I could be back in vacation mode, eating banana pancakes at my all-time favorite brunch place in L.A.! The January post-holiday struggle is way too real, people.
I can’t believe it’s the first Foodie Favorites of 2016! What are your foodie resolutions this year?! I’m not into the whole “cut out sugar/alcohol/everything wonderful in the world” kind of resolutions, but I love setting cooking goals for myself for the year. Last year, my goal was to expand my cooking horizons by making more Asian and Indian food at home, and I think I did a pretty good job! (Highlights of this resolution include these noodles and this curry. SOO GOOD.) This year my foodie resolutions are twofold: to mix-up our weeknight quick and easy dinner routine (I tend to fall back on the same go-to no-brainer recipes week in and week out, and we could use some variety), and to get more comfortable cooking chicken and fish. I will learn how to roast a chicken like Ina Garten, dammit!! I hope you have some lofty kitchen goals in your life, too. Here are this week’s Foodie Favorites!
Restaurant Reviews: Munich, Germany
Cheese spaetzle at the Hofbräuhaus in Munich, Germany. O-M-G.
OK, I’m not going to lie. Calling this post a “restaurant review” is a wee bit of a stretch. Can I just call it “lots of pictures of German food and also humans drinking beer” and we can call it a day?
Here’s the thing about German food: it’s soooo good but also very similar everywhere you go. So I can’t be like “THIS ONE PLACE has the best bratwurst and THIS ONE PLACE has the best spaetzle” because after just a week, I am nowhere near the authority on that. So let’s just love up on in the cuisine in general and relive vacation goodness! Aaaaaaand go.

Serious picnic eats in Lincoln Park
We had our first picnic of the season on a gorgeous Friday afternoon last week. Give me a wedge of stanky cheese, some fresh berries, and a few trashy mags and I am the happiest girl alive!
This breakfast ice cream was my favorite thing I saw online all week. I mean…bacon and fresh-made waffles in ice cream? Genius!
