Thanksgiving is this week, and I could not be more excited! In my mind, there’s nothing better than a day full of spending time with family, cooking and eating great food, and drinking wine while celebrating everything you have to be thankful for. I’m feeling warm and snuggly just thinking about it. T-4 days, people!

White Bean Chicken Chili
I’m not going to lie – before I started dating Brad, I had little to no interest in football. I was totally the girl that watched the Super Bowl only for the halftime commercials, and early on in college, my best friends and I would go to the Northwestern football tailgates, but then opt for bagels and a nap instead of the actual game. However, since I now live with a guy who watches any and every football game, whether college or professional, and my TV blares with game updates from Saturday at noon until Sunday when I go to bed, I’ve definitely (perhaps by necessity) learned to love it. I can’t watch it with the same fervor as lifelong fans, but give me a good game on a beautiful fall day (particularly if Northwestern is involved) and I’m pretty much the happiest girl in the world.
Whole-Wheat Pizza with Summer Veggies
Like most little kids, one of my absolute favorite foods growing up was pizza. Eight-year-old Meg could GET DOWN with some Hawaiian Pizza Hut pan pizza anytime, anywhere. And also like most little kids, my tastes have changed as I’ve grown older – more wood-fired thin crust with fancy meats and cheeses than greasy shredded mozzarella on an even greasier crust. But when it comes down to it, I have truly yet to meet a pizza that I didn’t prefer to most other things. From hearty and heavy deep dish (I am a Chicagoan, after all) to cracker thin crust with a delicate spattering of toppings, I love them all and could easily eat pizza every day. So considering how much I love to cook and bake, it surprises even me that I’d never attempted my own pizza crust before.
Farmers Market Potato Salad
I have a confession to make: we live right across the street from one of the biggest and best farmers markets in the Chicago metro area and…we never go.
Crazy, right?
