So the day I made this, I was all set to bust out the apples, the cinnamon, the nutmeg, the streusel topping. I was so excited for my first Fall baking extravaganza. I mean, pumpkin is basically my favorite thing in the world. Fall is totally my happy baking place.

But then…it was 95 degrees. And our apartment has no A/C. And I just COULD NOT bring myself to turn on the oven. I tried and tried to put myself in the blustery Fall mindset, and I just couldn’t. I’m sorry, guys. I promise streusel-topped butter-laden apple-y pumpkin-y things are coming soon, but just not today. Besides, it’s the official last day of summer! 

Can I offer you some bourbon honey fig no-churn ice cream instead?

Just a giant stack of fajitas from my favorite Mexican restaurant in LA. Major nostalgia up in here!

Hi friends! Can you even believe it’s June? I know it’s one-third of the way through June, but still – I can’t really wrap my mind around it. We spent a completely wonderful and life-affirming weekend in LA visiting family and friends last weekend, and it was just the best…and this week, one of my best friends Kate is coming to visit from Chicago! I’m feeling like a very lucky (and busy) gal. So because I haven’t eaten enough this week (major sarcasm), let’s look at more pictures of food! It’s how I roll, people. Here are this week’s Foodie Favorites!

I’m loving the creativity of this tahini ice cream with honey caramel. Tahini is such a fantastic and under-utilized ingredient – I love seeing it in the spotlight here!

Is this nutella crunch cake for real?! I’m seriously drooling!

Oftentimes, I wish I could be one of “those” people. You know the person I’m talking about. The kind of person that has homemade chocolate chip cookies in their cookie jar, instead of Chips Ahoys. The kind of person that makes a family-size lasagna or pot of chili and freezes the rest for meals throughout the coming weeks, rather than stuffing themselves and their boyfriend to the gills, then eating it for the next 3 days straight until neither of them can look at aforementioned once-delicious family-style meal. Too real?
