Carnitas Pizza

carnitas pizza // my bacon-wrapped lifeIt’s time for some FOOTBALL food!!

Yes, I know I’m a little late. But we’ve been traveling for the first few weekends of the season, so this is our first proper lazy Sunday posted up in front of Redzone all day – just the way I like it! Of course, my favorite part of football (besides fantasy football, which I surprised even myself by being alarmingly obsessed with) is all the amazing FOOD you have a built-in excuse to eat while you park yourself in front of the couch every Sunday. Now that I’ve officially married into a Steelers family, I’m taking my responsibilities as a Lookabaugh very seriously this football season.

foodie favorites - february 26, 2016 // my bacon-wrapped life

The cutest sign we stumbled upon in Berkeley on an impromptu walk on a gorgeous February day! I could not agree more.

Hey everyone! How’s your week going? I absolutely cannot wait for this weekend – we are heading down to LA tomorrow for a weekend trip to Santa Barbara with my parents, Brad’s sister, and her boyfriend to visit our wedding venue and do our wedding food tasting!! This is clearly the best part of being engaged, so I am over the moon and can’t wait to try all the food, drink all the wine, and eat all the cake. I hope you have a delicious weekend to look forward to as well! In the meantime, let’s keep ourselves food-happy with this week’s Foodie Favorites!

These sausage kale French bread pizzas need to make an appearance in my life ASAP. So many of my favorite things!!

Slow cooker cannellini bean soup is so winter-perfect. I’m craving it even here in sunny California!

Foodie Favorites – August 19, 2015

foodie favorites - august 19, 2015 // my bacon-wrapped life

A gigantic pizza from one of my favorite places in all of Chicago, Piece Pizza and Brewery in Wicker Park. We literally stopped here on the way back from the airport – it’s too good!

Hey guys! Happy Wednesday. How’s your week going? As you can tell by my last post, I’m clearly living the rough life over here. After lots of vacay, I am very excited for a few chill weeks at home coming up – I can’t wait to get back in the kitchen! I’m feeling totally inspired by all the gorgeous end-of-summer produce and want to hang onto these long days of easy, fresh food as long as possible. I hope you’re with me! Here are this week’s Foodie Favorites:

This maple bourbon brown butter peach pie is totally swoon-worthy. Fresh peach pie is one of the best parts of summer, and this version is one of the most gorgeous pies I’ve ever seen!

This grilled pineapple and prosciutto salsa is so cool and unique. I mean, if we can put meat in our salsa, we should probably do it.

Foodie Favorites – January 15, 2015

foodie favorites - january 15, 2015 // my bacon-wrapped life

Sometimes, I cook a bunch of bacon, then cook bread cubes in the leftover bacon grease, then cook brussels sprouts in more bacon grease, then call it dinner. Oops?

Hey guys! How’s your week going? After basically hibernating for the first week of January due to insanely freezing temps, I’ve resumed my usual levels of walking around and it feels surprisingly great! It’s a balmy 15°F after all – totally do-able, right? (Can you even believe I was born in Los Angeles?) Hope you’re keeping warm and braving the winter wherever you are. Here are this week’s Foodie Favorites!

I want to eat this entire pan of oatmeal cookie baked oatmeal. I love baked oatmeal, and this version looks so homey, comforting, and flavorful!

These spaghetti Bolognese garlic bread boats are basically the only thing I want to eat until it gets warm out again. Obviously the only way to make carbs better is adding more carbs. It’s science!
